Batwoman: Elegy
Elegy is a 2009-2010 story arc that ran in the main feature of Detective Comics, from issue #854-860 (August, 2009 - February, 2010).
The story features the modern incarnation of Batwoman replacing Batman in the wake of that his apparent death in the DC event series Final Crisis. Although a Batwoman series had been in the planning stages since before the character's first appearance in 52, various production setbacks and DC events delayed the title, until Bruce Wayne's removal from the present day DC Universe. Deemed the appropriate time, the story was placed as the main feature in Detective Comics.

In 2010, DC announced that Batwoman would star in her own series. The series' introductory "zero issue" was released on November 24, 2010.

The launch of Batwoman #1 was originally scheduled for February 2011, then delayed until spring; in early March it was announced that Batwoman #1 would be released sometime in Fall 2011 (as part of The New 52).
